In occupied Kashmir, curfew has been reimposed in most parts after a seventh class student, Faizan Rafiq Buhroo son of Muhammad Rafiq Buhroo of Jalal Sahab Varmul died after Special operation Group (SOG) personnel went berserk and used brute force to quell demonstrations there resulting in the death of Faizan who got drowned in water.
Various pro-freedom groups have strongly denounced the killing of seventh class student in Varmul. Senior APHC Leader and Acting Chairman of Jammu Kashmir Peoples League, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza has strongly condemned the killing of Faizan.
Waza said that Indian Army is committing war crimes in Kashmir by killing the young children in the name of security. He said that the World must investigate Indian crimes in Kashmir. He said that dialogue between Pakistan and India will not succeed until India agrees to solve the Kashmir issue with three party dialogue. He said that core issue is Kashmir, and the dialogue should start on how India will bring peace by settling the Kashmir issue according to the wishes of Kashmiri people.
President Jammu Kashmir Mahaz-e-Azadi (MeA) Mir Mohammad Iqbal has also strongly condemned the killing of Faizan. MeA spokesman while quoting Mir as saying that, “ on one side India beats drums of peace and their collaborators here in Kashmir promise of holding ‘independent probes’ in the killing of youth but their forces continue to genocide Kashmiris as they have been provided license to kill Kashmiris at will, which puts a question mark over their sincerity.”
The Executive Director of Kashmir Centre London, Professor Nazir Ahmed Shawl has also condemned the killing terming it as inhuman act.
Meanwhile occupation authorities have booked senior Hurriyat leader and salvation Movement Chairman Zaffar Akbar Bhat and General Secretary of High Court Bar Association Ghulam Nabi Shaheen under draconian Public safety Act (PSA). Zaffar has been lodged in Kotbalwal Jail Jammu where as Shaheen has been taken to Rajouri Jail.
All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) spokesman has strongly condemned the stepped up human rights violations and booking of Hurriyat leaders and activist under PSA. Spokesman has pointed out that, “The puppet administration was implicating the APHC leaders and activists in false cases to suppress the ongoing agitation in the occupied territory,” adding that, ““In view of the present crisis in Kashmir, the international human rights organizations should intervene and impress upon India to stop the killings."
Continuing with the ‘Civil disobedience movement’ on the call of APHC people staged sit-in at Dangerpora Chowk in Srinagar on Sunday. Large number of people including children participated in sit-in. Participants raised slogans in favour of Independence and demilitarization of Kashmir. Locals had volunteered to provide soft juices to the participants on the sit-in which lasted till evening.
Minister and Chairperson, Conservative Party of United Kingdom, Baroness Sayeeda Warsi, has commented that Kashmir issue is the mother of all the deputes pending between Pakistan and India and said it should be resolved according to wishes of Kashmiris. She maintained that Kashmiris must be taken on board as this dispute can only be solved according to their own wishes.
Senior leader of Hurriyat Conference and Chief Patron Islamic Political Party (jk) Mr. Mohammad Yousuf Naqash has said that Kashmir is the core dispute, a boiling volcano. Unless the sincere initiative of tripartite dialogue for resolving this dispute as per the wishes and aspirations of people of Kashmir is taken, the talks between India and Pakistan will neither succeed nor restore conducive atmosphere.
He said that India is trying to mislead International Community by beating the drums of talks but actually, it is pursuing its stubborn and Chakiyan policy in respect of resolution of this dispute. However, people of Kashmir are well aware about the insincere mindset of Indian Government, in respect of solution of Kashmir dispute and will continue and promote their struggle for emancipation from the forced and illegal occupation of Kashmir from India.
Jammu & Kashmir Human Rights Council International Wing Chairman Raja Habib jalib has condemned the curfew & killing of innocent civilians in Kashmir & called all human rights groups and the Muslim Countries to raise the issue of human rights violation in Kashmir. He also sent a letter to top Muslim Countries including Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Pakistan, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, and other African Muslim Countries to raise the issue. He also sent a letter to Prime Minister of Canada to ask India to stop the assault on Kashmiri civilians. He said that time has come for India to realize that military use will not bring peace in Kashmir, nor there can be a stable relationship between India & Pakistan until the core issue of Kashmir is not resolved according to the wishes of people of Kashmir.
He has also a letter to Mirwaiz Umar Farooq & Syed Ali Shah Geelani calling them to unite in this critical time and raise the issue internationally by requesting other countries to intervene.
