Geelani: India conspiring against Kashmiri youthSrinagar, MTT News Desk: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Chairman, Syed Ali Shah Geelani has warned that India is working on a new strategy to brainwash Kashmiri students and involve them in a futile pro-India political process.

Syed Ali Shah Geelani, who is also the President of Jammu & Kashmir Tahreek e Hurriyat (TeH), said in a statement in Srinagar that the Indian government and its intelligence agencies are trying to pollute the minds of the students by carrying out malicious political and cultural activities in the educational institutions of Kashmir.

The APHC chairman maintained that the Indian National Congress was making continuous attempts to set up its unit in Kashmir University that would be aimed at engaging the students into aimless political exercises.

An innocent Kashmiri student, arrested by Indian armed forces upon his arrival at Delhi airport from Srinagar on September 12, 2006, is languishing in Tehar jail for the last over five years.

Sanaullah Radu, father of 35-year-old Pervez Ahmad, with tear in his eyes, told media in Srinagar that his son did M.Sc in Zoology from the University of Pune in 2006.

Sanaullha Radu said that on September 12, 2006, Pervez boarded a ticket and left Srinagar for New Delhi to carry out research work at the same university.

However, as he landed at the Delhi airport he was arrested by Indian police and was taken to an unknown location.

Later, on October 15, 2006, an Indian TV channel reported that police had apprehended a militant, who was planning to carry out bomb blasts during Deewali, he said.

The man shown as militant was none-else than his own son, Pervez Ahmad, who was implicated in a fake case.

Pervez has been languishing in Tehar Jail for the last over five years. The father appealed to the international human rights organisations to help release his innocent son from Indian custody.
